On Wednesday night an organization called Broken Hearts brings dinner from a sponsored restaurant. I talked to a few of the other patient's parents. I met a really sweet mom and her son just got a heart! It was put in after Beckett's Berlin procedure! Little Oliver is doing great! Please keep him in your prayers too! Another patient here is having surgery tomorrow on her abdomen (she has cardiac issues too) so please keep her in your prayers too!
Today, I could not believe my eyes when I saw my baby!!!! He looked amazing! I found out they got 700 ml of fluid off of him! He was also so awake and alert!!! Everyone couldn't believe how great he looked. His chest will be closed tomorrow at bedside. Once closed they will work on getting him off the vent and getting the chest tubes out. Hearing this is like hearing I won the lottery! It is priceless! All of his cultures came back negative and his head ultrasound looked good. He is doing good and I am so happy, however I have to keep in mind a set back can happen at anytime. Joe came today and realized that Beckett will probably never return to his room at the Lake House. He has never slept in that crib. It seems like yesterday I was looking out our bedroom window waiting for his furniture to arrive. However, he will return to a brand new house that he will grow up in! My brother and sister in law are in Orlando for the Disney marathon. They drove here today to see Beckett and we all had lunch together. My hubby is doing the race Saturday too! Good Luck Honey, Todd, and Cory! Eye of the Tiger!
I put Beckett's 3 day post op pictures together so you all can see how great he looks!
Thank you for all of the prayers!!! They are truly working! Please don't stop! We still have a long way to go, but everyday is a day closer to me holding him again, for him getting a new heart, and us going home to be a family again! I thought today how ironic it is that we found out we were pregnant on Valentine's Day...heart day and my baby needs a heart! I am an Alpha Phi alumni and our philanthropy is heart disease. Through the help of my sisters we were granted a grant tonight in honor of Beckett. I am so proud to be an Alpha Phi and so thankful the support they have given us. AOE sisters!
Here is the amazing machine that now controls the devices that work as Beckett's heart.
Please pray for a good night and a good day tomorrow especially with his chest closure at bedside. Please keep baby Oliver and baby girl in your prayers too! Thank you all so much for EVERYTHING. We truly feel the love and the support! It is truly amazing.... well, Beckett the Beast is truly amazing!
Much Love,
Joe, Taylor, and Beckett
