Beckett Got Baptized!

Early Friday morning Joe came here after work. I was so happy and excited to see him. He is my rock and I just feel safer when we are side by side. Beckett had a rough morning yesterday. When we first got here he was good during the day and bad at night. Now he is the opposite, which means he has his days and night back on track. Yesterday morning he was very agitated. I think there are many reasons he gets agitated. Besides not feeling well, he is completely out of his norm. He spent two months at home in his mom's arms, breast feeding, and enjoying his pacifier. Now he is in a bed 24 hours a day with a tube down his throat. Even though I sometimes wish he could understand what is going on; I am more happy that he will not remember any of this. It is quite normal and ok for a baby to get agitated, but in Beckett's case it is dangerous since it causes his heart rate to rise. Once he did settle down, my mom and I went to mass at the hospital. After mass we baptized Beckett in his hospital room (sorry I look like the rough morning we had).

Joe had to leave for work right after the baptism. It is so hard saying good bye. I am glad that we have had some practice being long distance since we are back in that boat. I miss Coco so much too and worry that she thinks I just left her. She is in the best care ever, but I could totally use some of her sweet snuggles. I cannot wait for the day for my whole family to be back under the same roof.

I spent the night with my dad. He brought me soup and the mail I got at the Ronald McDonald house. Opening the cards, drawings, and presents made my night. It made me smile and laugh, which is a little harder to do these days. I am so thankful for the love that surrounds us. Beckett's room will be full of flair very soon! (pics to follow)

Beckett had a great night. He remained fever free throughout the night. However, it did creep back up this morning with his agitation. Since he has been on antibiotics (since Thursday) they think the fever now is cardiac related. When his heart rate rises so does his core temp. As of now we are still on track for surgery Monday. They do blood work and cultures everyday to continue to watch for the infection very closely. Hopefully, they come back negative and we have a successful surgery Monday!

Much Love,
Joe, Taylor, and Beckett
